Welcome Back!
Since the launch of Girl, Groomed on April 22, I’ve been deeply moved by how the book has resonated with readers. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just joining now, I’m grateful to have you as part of this growing community.
In these newsletters, I’ll continue to share behind-the-scenes stories, personal reflections, and what’s next—because healing doesn’t stop at the final page.
Today, we return to Weeds of My Mind.
In Part One, I explored how early seeds of self-doubt were planted. Now, in Part Two, I want to take you further into how those seeds began to take root—and how they shaped the way I navigated authority and relationships as a child.
The Weeds Take Root
When I was ten years old, this contributed to my not being able to accurately identify the predatory behavior of my horseback riding instructor, who ran a stable down the hill when we relocated to Virginia.
As I was already conditioned to want the approval of authority figures, I assumed that his unwanted advances were my problem to solve—alone.
So often, the interpreted story is crafted because, especially as children, we are unable to see the limitations of others, and thus assume that the fault and responsibility lie within us.
All our personality shields are set up to guard against this fear that we somehow aren’t enough, that our worth is negotiable.
These are the weeds that require gentle uprooting.
🌸 And yes—this series will also be part of a published collection later this year. I can’t wait to tell you more in the final installment.
📩 Stay tuned — this is Part Two.
There’s more to this story, and I’ll be sharing the last piece in the upcoming newsletter.
Until then, thank you for being here and walking this path with me.

Definitely believe that which you stated. Your favourite justification appeared to be on the net the simplest thing to take into account of.
I say to you, I certainly get irked even as other folks consider concerns that they just don’t realize about.
You controlled to hit the nail upon the highest and also defined out the whole
thing without having side effect , people can take a signal.
Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
